UPDATE

I know that some that read my blog use it for updates on how my leg is healing. Well it has been a while since my last update. Things are healing very well. I started PT a few weeks ago. I am walking with a ankle brace in my shoe and a cane. It is a good feeling to be able to have two shoes on again. There is still pain but most of it is because my range of motion needs to be stretched back to normal locations. Having both shoes on is helping to stimulate my nerve lose in the bottom of my foot. The swelling have gone down quite a bit but will continue for a while. I'll try to what so long between updates next time.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

CLICK, CLICK Must be out of bullets.

Well yesterday I was taken out of the jean pool. It was something that took more nerve to "get around " to do than anything. Anticipation is an awful thing. I told the doc to take his time and it still only took about 15 mins. What a nice Christmas present to my wife. Besides, my insurance max out of pocket was met almost by 5o times. No more little Burnsy's running around.

Hop-a-long

It has been a few weeks since my last post. I have been very busy with job at work. Much to my disappointment, when I got my cast off walking was not even remotely possible. The doc informed me that I wasn't a kid anymore and that I now had the bone density of an 80 yr old man in my left leg. Now I had to be careful not to fall and break something else. Great, the only way to build up the bone density was to walk on it and I can't even put any weight on it. Well I have a walking boot that supports my leg and I am getting around with only one crutch. The days seem to have gotten a whole lot longer since I went back to work. Man do I get tired.
Well that's about it. If I don't post before, have a great Thanksgiving. Remember all the things we have to be thankful for.

Slaying Dragons

Today was my first day back at work. What better day to start the work week than Friday. Not long after it starts the week is over for a couple of days. It was a good feeling to be working again but it is going to be quite a while before I can do a lot.

Scrap metal

Yesterday I got the external hardware removed from my leg and a cast put on. What a different feeling. Now I don't have to be quite as cautious to no hit it against things. Things are going in the right direction.

Week and a half left.

Well I just got home from my orthopedic surgeons office. She said that everything looks great and things are healing very well. In 1 1/2 weeks I go back to the OR to get the external fixture removed and then a cast put on. Things are looking up. YeHa!
